• • After the first appointment avoid biting on the affected side.

  • Avoid hot food and drinks as it may aggravate the pain and discomfort.

  • After the second or third appointment of the root canal treatment on doctors advice start biting on the treated side so that the soreness wears off gradually.  

  • You may experience some discomfort on the tooth that has been treated after the completion of the treatment and may last for 6 to 10 days, it is considered normal.

  • Please have medications as prescribed by the doctor. If any problem occurs due to the medication being taken kindly notify to your doctor.

  • The most important step after root canal treatment is completed is to get the permanent filling done followed by a crown or cap.

  • A cap over root canal treated tooth is important as the tooth becomes brittle and may fracture accidentally.

  • If a cap is not done and tooth fractures, u may experience severe pain and the tooth may have to be removed then.
